Welcome to the Sketchbook Journal

Welcome to the Sketchbook Journal – a new section of Dreaded Designs dedicated to blog updates, creative experiments, future ideas, sketchbook concepts, and all the strange little projects lurking behind the scenes.

Over the past few weeks, a huge amount of work has been going into updating and improving older content across the blog. Tutorials are being rewritten, images are being replaced, internal links are being added, and entire sections of posts are slowly being rebuilt to make everything clearer, more useful, and far more enjoyable to explore.

It’s a massive project, but somewhere beneath the pile of screenshots, drafts, and half-finished edits, I’m reasonably certain there’s still a functioning human being.

Because so much time is currently being spent improving existing content, new tutorials have slowed down for a little while, as the blog goes through this strange transformation phase. Rather than silently vanishing into the fog for several months, this journal felt like the perfect place to share what’s happening behind the scenes and document the ongoing evolution of Dreaded Designs.

This section will be used for:

  • blog updates and progress reports
  • future plans and upcoming ideas
  • horror sketchbook concepts and inspiration
  • seasonal horror content
  • creative experiments and artistic tests
  • random moments of creative chaos
  • and probably the occasional battle against perspective and lighting

Some posts here may be short updates, while others may explore strange ideas, future projects, sketchbook concepts, or experimental artwork that doesn’t quite fit into the main tutorial sections of the site.

There are already plenty of ideas planned for the future, including new tutorial concepts, expanded horror art topics, more drawing resources, and several larger projects that are slowly taking shape in the background. Some ideas are fully planned out. Others currently exist as deeply cursed notes scattered across multiple folders and sketchbooks.

Either way, this journal will act as a creative hub for the evolving side of Dreaded Designs – a place to share progress, experiments, ideas, and all the strange little developments happening behind the scenes.

Thanks for stopping by the Sketchbook Journal. More strange things will be appearing here soon.
